Why failing is important.

Most people fear failure.

But failure, when embraced the right way, is one of the most valuable tools we have for growth.

If you’ve read my story, you know I didn’t have a typical path.

I was born legally blind, and I had one goal, to play Division 1 football.

At the time, it sounded impossible not just to others, but sometimes to me.

Failing on and off the field, not knowing if I would get the opportunity I wanted.

Every time I failed, I learned something.

How to prepare better.

How to handle pressure.

How to keep showing up even when the outcome wasn’t guaranteed.

That process shaped who I became more than any success ever could.

Eventually, I found a way to succeed.

Not because I avoided failure but because I leaned into it, learned from it, and used it to grow.

Here’s the truth, we live in a world obsessed with highlight reels.

But real development happens in the mess.

Failure gives you clarity.

It shows you what matters, what needs work, and who you really are when things get hard.

Failure isn’t the opposite of success.

It’s the foundation of it.
