The Blind Spot Every Leader Has

Every leader I’ve met has blind spots. We all do.

It might be confidence that tips into arrogance.

Attention to detail that slips into micromanagement.

Decisiveness that turns into rigidity.

The problem isn’t having blind spots. The problem is ignoring them.

Leaders who invite feedback to uncover them. Leaders who don’t, eventually crash into them.

Here’s a simple tool, ask three trusted people this question:

“What’s one thing I do that gets in my own way as a leader?”

Then listen. Don’t defend. Don’t explain. Just take it in.

It’s not easy. Nobody likes hearing criticism.

But I promise you, the clarity on the other side is worth it.

The leaders I respect most aren’t the ones who look flawless.

They’re the ones who know their blind spots and put systems in place, so they don’t get in the way.

Blind spots don’t make you weak. Pretending you don’t have them does.

So, here’s your challenge for this week:

  • Ask the question.

  • Write down what you hear.

  • Sit with it.

Then pick one thing to work on.

That single action can change how your team sees you.
