I need to stop calling you this

We sat down in a room of 500 people and watched a 10-year identity die in 10 minutes. Here is the blueprint.

The Identity Shift: How to Shatter Your Limits and Command Your Future

Change your perspective, change your life.

Most people are living in a mental prison they’ve built out of old labels and what ifs. They walk around carrying heavy identities like I’m shy, I’m anxious, or I’m just not a leader.

But here is the truth: A label is not a life sentence. It’s just a perspective and perspectives can be shattered in a heartbeat.

The Chain of Experience: Why You Feel the Way You Do

I recently stood before a room of hundreds of people to teach a fundamental truth about how our minds work. It’s a chain reaction that dictates every second of your experience:

Your Perspective shapes the Questions you ask.
Your Questions shape your Focus.
Your Focus shapes your Feelings.
Your Feelings shape your Experience.

If your perspective is I’m not good enough, your brain naturally asks, why do I always fail? That question forces your focus onto your flaws, making you feel like a victim. Your experience becomes one of suffering.

But if you change the perspective to, I’m here to learn and grow, your question becomes What’s the gift in this moment? Suddenly, your focus shifts to your strength, you feel empowered, and your experience is one of victory.

From the Back Row to the Spotlight

During this workshop, I asked a simple question: Who here identifies as shy? Who feels that grip of anxiety when they must speak?

A hand went up. I brought that person on stage.

In that moment, they had a choice. Their old perspective said, I don't belong here. But we started to shift the chain by changing the activity.

First: We talked one-on-one. Just two people.
Second: We introduced the microphone.
Third: We turned to the audience.

Within minutes, the person who walked up as the shy one was sharing their story, their background, and their soul with hundreds of strangers. They didn't find confidence; they created it by shifting their focus from protecting themselves to sharing themselves.

Your Blueprint for Breakthrough: 3 Actions You Can Take Today

You don’t need a stage and a microphone to have a breakthrough. You can rewire your nervous system right now from your living room. Here is how:

1. Audit Your Internal Interrogator

Anxiety is usually the result of asking yourself terrible questions. Spend today catching yourself. Every time you feel a dip in energy, ask: What question did I just ask myself?

Stop asking: What if they don't like me? or What if I mess up?
Start asking: How can I add value here? or What is the one thing I can do right now to move forward?

2. The Identity Audit

Write down three labels you’ve given yourself that start with I am followed by a negative trait, such as I am disorganized, I am anxious, or I am a procrastinator.

  • Cross them out.

  • Replace them with a doing statement. Instead of I am anxious, say I am currently feeling a sensation of energy that I can use to focus. Identity is fixed; behavior is flexible. Change the language, change the result.

3. Practice Successive Approximation

The person on stage didn't start by screaming to 500 people. They started by talking to me.

Identify the thing that scares you.

Break it down into a 10% version. If you’re afraid of networking, don't go to a gala. Start by saying good morning to the barista. Then, ask the barista how their day is going. Build the certainty muscle in small increments until the big thing feels like a natural next step.

The 24-Hour Challenge

Stop waiting for the feeling of confidence to show up.

It only arrives after the action is taken.

I want you to pick one move you can make in the next 24 hours to prove your old labels are dead.

Whether it’s making that difficult phone call, sending that pitch, or finally speaking up in a meeting do it now.

Reply to this email with your one bold move. I’m reading every single response.
