Attitude is the real differentiator
Attitude matters.
It defines great leaders. It defines great employees. It defines great teammates.
And most importantly, it is one of the fastest ways to separate yourself from the people around you.
Whether you are on the football field, in the office, or just moving through everyday life, attitude is how you stand out.
People remember you for your good attitude.
And they definitely remember you for your bad attitude.
Here is a real example from this week.
I was traveling and flying into Florida for an event.
I have talked before about how I get a meet and assist at the airport.
I do not need a wheelchair, but I do need someone to walk with me to help me get to my gate and, when I land, to help me get off the plane and out to where I am getting picked up.
This time, the person helping me had a bad attitude.
He seemed annoyed.
Like this was a waste of his time.
And honestly, sometimes that happens when they realize I am not sitting in a chair, and they assume I do not really need help.
Most people I work with are great.
They are genuine. They are kind. Sometimes they do not talk much, but they are still respectful.
This person was not. And it stuck with me.
Not because I was angry. But because it reminded me of something important.
The attitude of the people around you sticks. It stays with you.
You carry it with you longer than you think.
Now, on the other side of that, I got to my hotel and I asked for help.
Because I know what I need. I know how I need support.
And asking for help is a sign of confidence, not weakness.
I asked the person at the front desk to have someone show me where my room was, where the restaurant was, and where the gym was.
That way I could settle in quickly and enjoy my experience before speaking the next day.
So here is the question I want to leave you with.
How is your attitude?
Take an honest look at yourself.
Are you trying to get a promotion? Trying to earn the starting spot? Trying to build better relationships or friendships?
Ask yourself: is my attitude serving me, or is it fighting against me?
Because your attitude is always communicating something.
And people are always paying attention.

P.S. I am planning out my 2026 speaking tour. If I can help you, support you, or even just have a conversation, reply back and let me know.
