A Favor (and a Story)

I've got a favor to ask this week.

Story first, though.

At Tulane I was a long snapper.

If you don't follow football, my job was to snap the ball back to the guy kicking it.

Do it right and nobody notices you.

Mess it up and the whole stadium knows your name.

I loved it.

It taught me early that much of what matters on a team is helping other people do their job well, whether or not anyone sees it.

I try to bring that into my work now.

When I write this newsletter or get up in front of a room, I just want people to walk away with something they can use.

Asking for Help

One thing I talk about often on stage is asking for help.

Most of us were taught it's a weakness.

I think it takes strength.

But I forget that sometimes too, same as all of you.

So I'm asking for help this week.

My New Speaker Reel

I just put out a new speaker reel.

It's what event planners watch when they're deciding whether to bring me in, and I'm proud of how it came out.

Give it a watch, then send it to one person you know who plans events or brings in speakers.

Could be someone at a company, a conference, a school, or an association.

An HR leader, a principal, a sales leader with a kickoff coming up.

Just one person.

If you've gotten anything out of these emails, this would mean the world to me.

A forward from someone they know goes further than anything I could send them.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for helping.

Aaron

P.S. Plenty of groups are booking their 2027 kickoffs, conferences, and assemblies right now.

If someone comes to mind, send them the reel and have them email me at [email protected].
